Acid Mothers Gong is a collaboration between members of the Japanese psychedelic rock band Acid Mothers Temple and Gong, the Franco-British progressive/psychedelic rock band originally formed in the late 1960s. This fusion created a unique blend of avant-garde psychedelic sounds with progressive rock elements. The collaboration brought together the talents of Acid Mothers Temple's leader Makoto Kawabata and Gong's Daevid Allen, among others. While Acid Mothers Temple is known for their prolific output and explorations into cosmic and often chaotic soundscapes, Gong has been celebrated for their innovative contributions to the progressive rock genre, particularly during their "Radio Gnome Invisible" trilogy era in the 1970s. The partnership between these two entities resulted in a series of performances and recordings that captured the improvisational energy and experimental spirit of both groups.
