Family Album After Willie Nelson released his new album of Sinatra covers, "That's Life", only in early 2021, the American country legend returns from the studio later this year with another LPm album. "Willie Nelson Family" is the title of the 72nd album from Nelson, who celebrates his 88th birthday in 2021. The title reveals that this is a family album. The cover features Willie's sister Bobbi, sons Lukas and Micah, and daughters Amy and Paula together. In addition, regular members of Nelson's band contributed to the album: Mickey Raphael, Billy English, Kevin Smith and Paul English, Nelson's longtime drummer and confidant who died early last year at age 87. In addition to several Willie Nelson originals from recent years that the family plays together here, "Willie Nelson Family" also features several cover versions, including George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass," Kris Kristofferson's "Why Me" and the Carter Family's "Keep On The Sunnyside." The first single "Family Bible" was released in September. The song is one of the musician's first tracks. It was written in 1957, inspired by scenes of Willie's grandmother singing "Rock Of Ages" and reading from the Bible after dinner. As a young songwriter who had moved to Houston, Willie sold the song to Paul Buskirk, who engaged singer Claude Gray to record Nelson's original songs (including "Family Bible" and "Night Life"). Gray's single version was released in February 1960 and reached number seven on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. The success of this single allowed Willie to move to Nashville, where he established himself as a songwriter. Nelson first recorded his own version in 1971 for his album "Yesterday's Wine".
