Chiswick Records was not only a label for rock'n'roll, punk rock, quirky pop and art rock, but also a springboard for later greats such as Joe Strummer, Kirsty McCall, Billy Bragg (with his band Riff Raff), Simple Minds (who partly performed as Johnny And The Self Abusers) and last but not least Motörhead, who with their brilliant debut album on the label created a cross between hard rock and punk that both labels could agree on. Chiswick remains to this day a bridge between the pub rock of the early 70s and the punk that musically influenced the decade until its end. With 46 tracks on 2CD, the Digipak once again demonstrates the exceptional status of the label founded by Roger Armstrong (Ace Rec.) and Ted Carroll. On board for this rock and punk journey through time are Motörhead, The Damned, Rocky Sharpe & The Replays, Meteors, Count Bishops, Radio Stars, Riff Raff, Textones, The 101ers, Amazorblades, Johnny Moped, Radiators, Bishops and more.
