The label was founded in 2005 with the aim of releasing music from the Nordic countries. It was clear to label boss CHRISTIAN PLIEFKE right from the start that there were many great artists to be discovered off the beaten radio track, and that they needed to be made available to seekers and music lovers. That's why he regularly releases enchanting compilations on the NORDIC NOTES label and on his partner labels BESTE UNTERHALTUNG! and CPL MUSIC, bringing together their contemporary artists on one CD and highlighting the diversity of the Nordic music scene. PLIEFKE got the idea to create such a compilation for all his Estonian labels this time after visiting Tallinn Music Week, where he met and appreciated new unknown artists as well as experienced performers. On the album "Nordic Notes Vol. 5: Folk From Estonia" we get a selection of artists like TRAD. ATTACK!, MARI KALKUN & RUNORUN, ESTBEL, MARI KALKUN, PUULUUP and KULNO MALVA shows us a cheerful and energetic cross-section of the Estonian musical landscape.
