Especially since the era of Gérard Mortier in the early 1980s, these song recitals have been repeatedly recorded by the two Belgian radio stations, but have since lain fallow in their archives. Thanks to CYPRES, this treasure is now being rediscovered and each year one of the concerts will be released on CD. Who should launch the new series but José van Dam, the most famous Belgian singing great since Suzanne Danco? His recital, recorded in 1997, shows the Belgian baritone at the height of his vocal prowess in songs from Brahms to Ibert.
