Cafes in Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow and other cities in the British Isles have for some years now become well-attended outposts of the songwriting movement, where people meet friends, drink and simply listen - to Celtic acoustic folk like the 'Celtic Café'. Among others, flautist Michael McGoldrick, who has played with Mark Knopfler and Talvin Singh, Scottish singer-songwriter Dougie MacLeanb (whose "Caledonia" has become a kind of Scottish anthem), the famous Capercaillie, folk singer Cara Dillon, Mánran, Finbar Furey and the Battlefield Band.
