Established in 1989 by the "National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences" (organizer of the Grammy Awards), the American MusiCares Foundation annually recognizes individuals and institutions that have made a charitable contribution, such as supporting social or medical projects. In 2013, Bruce Springsteen won the "Person of the Year" award and MusiCares organized a concert in his honor in Los Angeles, which is now being released on DVD and Blu-ray: in addition to a number of artists who each performed a Springsteen song (among others, the "Springsteen Song of the Year"), the concert was also presented by MusiCares. Patti Smith, Mumford and Sons, Kenny Chesney, Juanes, Alabama Shakes, Jackson Browne, Emmylou Harris, Elton John, Sting, Neil Young, Mavis Staples and Zac Brown), Bruce Springsteen himself and his E Street Band will perform five of his own songs. 2 hours and 15 minutes to honor and perform a true musical icon!
