Americana was released in 1998 and is the fifth studio album by American rock band The Offspring. Americana was a huge success immediately after its release, debuting at number six on the US Billboard 200 chart and selling over 175,000 copies in its first week of sales. With more than 10 million units sold, "Americana" is the group's most commercially successful album after "Smash". In Germany, the album reached number five on the charts and won a gold record. The fact that the album is one of The Offspring's biggest successes is certainly due to punk rock evergreens like "Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)", "Why Don't You Get A Job?" and "The Kids Aren't Alright," which are all found on Americana.
