The Moody Blues release 7 studio albums from 1969 - 1981 on vinyl! On the Threshold of Dreams (1969) explores dreams, especially on the other side, and culminates with the suite "Voyage", inspired in part by Richard Strauss' "Also sprach Zarathrustra". To Our Children's Children (1969) was inspired by the 1969 moon landing. The songs revolve around the twin themes of space travel and children. On the album A Question of Balance (1970), the band tried to get rid of the familiar lush psychedelic sound in order to better play the songs live. Every Good Boy Deserves Favour (1971) contains a single song written by all five band members. The opening track, Procession, was meant to describe the history of music from the beginning of time to the recording of the album. Several songs on Seventh Sojourn (1972) contain overt political references. "You and Me" alludes to ongoing wars and conflicts, including Vietnam. The album Octave (1978) turned out to be the band's last album, as keyboardist Mike Pinder left during its recording. Long Distance Voyager (1981) became their second number one album.
