Mixed Up is a remix album by English alternative rock band The Cure , released on 3 September 1990. It is the band's tenth studio album and first since 1989's Disintegration. The album was a response to the band's growing popularity in the United States, where they had not toured since 1982. The album contains remixes of ten of the band's singles from the 1980s and two new songs. The album was a critical and commercial success, reaching number two in the UK and number one on the US Billboard 200. It went triple platinum in the US and sold over four million copies worldwide. The album spawned three singles, "Close to Me" (a remix of the 1985 single), "Why Can't I Be You?" (a remix of the 1987 single) and "Friday I'm in Love" (a remix of the 1992 single). The Cure : Mixed Up is a must-have album for fans of the band as it contains remixes of some of their biggest hits. The album is also a great introduction to the band for new listeners as it contains some of their most popular songs.
