The Clash Hits Back features 32 of the band's iconic tracks on a 3LP set. The tracklist is arranged from the band's legendary gig at Brixton Fairdeal in 1982 and features the best studio recordings of the entire set plus 8 other iconic tracks. Included is the original setlist, handwritten by Joe Strummer, who taped it to the back of his Telecaster before each gig. "Every concert was different. Joe would spend a lot of ti me composing the running order, considering the dynamics, emotional impact and key the songs were in. This recording is based on Joe's setlist from The Casbah Club UK Tour, Brixton Fairdeal, 10 July 1982" (Mick, Paul and Topper).
