Status Quo has been at the top of the music scene for a long time. In 1962, the group started out as a beat group called The Spectres. Around 1967 they discovered psychedelic rock music and changed the band name to Traffic, which they later changed again to Traffic Jam. That same year, Rick Parfitt joined the band, leading to another name change that has stuck to this day: Status Quo.
