Re-release of the live album "In Transit" More than 40 years have passed since the release of the debut album "Saga" by the Canadian progressive rock and neo-prog band Saga. To date, they have released 22 more albums. earMUSIC 2021 honours this musical legacy with a new release series that reissues their essential material from 1978 to 2007, remastered on CD and vinyl. Also included is "In Transit". The band's first live album was released in August 1982 and was recorded on February 5, 1982 at the Rudi-Sedlmayer-Halle in Munich and on February 22, 23 and 24, 1982 at the Tivoli concert hall in Copenhagen. The album went platinum in Canada (100,000 copies sold) and gold in Germany (250,000 copies sold). It also reached number ten on the Canadian charts and number three in Germany. The reissued CD is released in a high quality digipack. The vinyl reissue comes as a 180g LP in a gatefold sleeve with extensive liner notes and rare photos. In 2021 Saga reissued the albums "Saga" (1978), "Images At Twilight" (1979), "Silent Knight" (1980), "Worlds Apart" (1981), "Heads Or Tales" (1983), "Behaviour" (1985), "Wildest Dreams" (1987), "The Beginner's Guide To Throwing Shapes" (1989) and "The Security Of Illusion" (1993). Saga is a Canadian rock band from Oakville, Ontario. The main songwriters were Jim Crichton and lead singer Michael Sadler. The band has undergone many line-up changes over the years. Ian and Jim Crichton were the only two original members who contributed to all the albums. By 2021 they had released 23 studio albums and nine live albums. The most recent release was 2021's Symmetry. Saga has sold over eight million records worldwide and toured the world several times. Their music oscillates between progressive rock, new wave, power pop and non-progressive rock. Their distinctive sound consists of synth harmonies, guitar riffs, intricate keyboard arrangements and frontman Michael Sadler's vocals.
