The album was recorded at Le Studio in Morin-Heights, Quebec and mixed at McClear Place in Toronto. The album reached number 3 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. The album spawned two singles, "Stick It Out" and "Leave That Thing Alone". Critics praised the album, with AllMusic giving it 4.5 stars out of 5. The album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album.
