The strong influence of bands like Judas Priest, Kiss and AC/DC is evident on these eight raw, primitive and energetic heavy metal tracks with lyrics full of satanic iconography. The band also incorporated accompanying studs, skin and skulls into their photographs and artwork. With more than 235,000 copies sold, "Gates To Purgatory" helped Running Wild to fame in the metal scene in their native Germany and beyond.
