Rainbow was formed in 1975 by Ritchie Blackmore after he left Deep Purple. It soon became apparent that he would be no less successful with Rainbow. The band released a string of hit albums with an ever-changing lineup. On the album "Live In Munich 1977" you can hear the line-up with singer Dio and drummer Powell. Blackmore arrived in Munich very late, so the Munich concert had to be postponed by a day. The band seemed to be encouraged by this and played one of the most memorable concerts of their career.
