Queen : Greatest Hits is a compilation album by British rock band Queen , released in 1981. It is the band's first greatest hits album in the United States and second in the United Kingdom. The album has been certified platinum by the RIAA and has sold over 12 million copies worldwide.The album contains the band's most successful singles from its first four albums, Queen (1973), Queen II (1974), Sheer Heart Attack (1974) and A Night at the Opera (1975). It also includes the non-single "Bohemian Rhapsody", which became the group's first UK number one single and is the third longest-selling single in UK history. Queen : Greatest Hits was well received by music critics. Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic called it "an excellent summary of the band's first four albums", while Robert Christgau said it was "the only Queen album I need". The album was a commercial success, reaching number two in the UK and number one in the US. It was certified platinum by the RIAA and sold more than 12 million copies worldwide.
