Im Jahr 1968 veröffentlichte Supraphon unter dem Titel "Musica Antiqua Citolibensis" das erste Album mit Werken unbekannter böhmischer Meister des 18. Jahrhunderts. Die außergewöhnliche Aufmerksamkeit, die das Album sowohl im In- wie Ausland erregte, führte zur Veröffentlichung einer weiteren Sammlung im Jahr 1984. Supraphon legt nun eine - technically überarbeitete - Sammlung ausgewählter Stücke aus diesem umfassenden Repertoire vor. Product information. The compositions were discovered by musicologist Zdeněk Šesták in Citoliby, a newly discovered rural locality near Louny. The album's extraordinary acclaim at home and abroad prompted the publication of a second extensive collection in 1984. A number of top singers and instrumentalists participated in the recording, including the Kühn Children's Choir and the Prague Symphony Orchestra. Now we offer this newly remastered collection of selected pieces from the Citolib repertoire, which consisted primarily of sacred vocal works with instrumental accompaniment. The pieces are living proof of the surprisingly high level of musicianship in this Czech community in the second half of the 18th century.
