The album "Nefertiti", recorded over two days in the summer of 1967, is the last fully acoustic Miles Davis album on which Miles Davis did not write any songs. Most of the songs were written by Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock. The album is best known for the unusual title track, where the horns repeat the melody and the rhythm section improvises (not the other way around). Although this is an acoustic album, it hints at Miles' transition from bop to jazz fusion; it's a nod to his other albums "Miles in the Sky" and the critically acclaimed "In A Silent Way".
