Even if that's not true, Miles Davis was one of the greatest musical innovators of the 20th century; a pioneer of cool jazz (1949's "Birth Of The Cool"), modal jazz ("Kind Of Blue" in 1959) and fusion with 1970's "Bitches Brew". "Bitches Brew Live" collects recordings of two performances: the first three tracks were recorded at the Newport Jazz Festival in July 1969 - a few weeks before the "Bitches Brew Sessions" in August of that year - and have never been released. Davis has performed with Chick Corea on electric piano, Dave Holland on acoustic bass, and Jack DeJohnette on drums; all of these musicians were instrumental in the development of the fusion movement. The version of "Miles Runs The Voodoo Down" is the first professionally recorded version of this song.
