Seven concerts were announced in late 2015 to mark the 20th anniversary of the release of the Manic Street Preachers' fourth album, Everything Must Go. The band have now confirmed that a special box set re-release of the album will also be released, which will include vinyl, CD, DVD and book. The 21-song performance in front of more than 20,000 people at Manchester's Nynex Arena on May 24, 1997 has been completely restored and will now be available in full on CD and DVD for the first time. Director and BAFTA Award-winning Kieran Evans (Kelly & Victor), a long-time companion of the band, has shot new footage for it. In addition to the box set, a double CD will be available; both formats will be released simultaneously on 20 May 2016, exactly 20 years after the original album was released. 2016 also marks the band's 30th anniversary in Blackwood, South Wales. The live shows will feature the full album for the first time, and after an intermission will showcase greatest hits, new songs and rarely heard gems from the album's 12-year history. The band will be joined on tour by special guests The Editors - except in Swansea, where they will be supported by Super Furry Animals and Public Service Broadcasting. Prior to the UK shows, Manic Street Preachers will play shows in Europe and headline the Victorious and Truck festivals this summer. The album Everything Must Go, originally released in the spring of 1996, was the band's first major commercial success. The album went triple platinum in the UK, won numerous Brit Awards and sold over a million copies. Four singles made the top ten: "A Design for Life", "Everything Must Go", "Kevin Carter" and "Australia". As part of the supporting tour, the band played both a gig in a small basement bar called Haçienda and a headlining show to over 20,000 fans in Manchester in less than twelve months. While some of the songs from Everything Must Go are still mainstays of Manic Street Preachers shows today, other songs from the album have not been played live since 96.
