Jimmy Page aptly titled Led Zeppelin's last studio album, released two years after the death of drummer John Bonham and the band's official breakup, "coda". The eight tracks on the album were previously unreleased songs recorded between 1970 and 1978. The circumstances of John Bonham's death on September 25, 1980 made waves. In bed at Jimmy Page's home in Windsor, the drummer choked on his own vomit in his sleep. Excessive alcohol consumption was always cited as the explanation. The remaining members of Led Zeppelin quickly decided to disband the band. In a press statement, they declared that it was impossible to continue without Bonham. Bootlegs of unreleased material soon began circulating among fans who were determined not to forget Led Zeppelin. It was rumored that the band needed to release one more album to fulfill his contract. There were a few more tracks from the recording of "In Through The Out Door". And Jimmy Page went into the archives for the first time to go through the unreleased tracks and fill an album with them. The following points have already convinced the buyers of the first six Led Zeppelin reissues. "Coda" is the only one of Led Zeppelin's Deluxe Editions to be released with two companion discs containing a total of 15 songs recorded between 1968-1974. The earliest song in the collection, the frenetic blues jam "Sugar Mama", was recorded in 1968 at Olympic Studios during the recording of the debut album. The song was completed but has not been released until now. The song "Baby Come On Home" comes from the same recording. The previously unreleased track "St. Tristan's Sword" is a wartime instrumental recorded during the recording of Led Zeppelin III in 1970. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant made the legendary trip to India in 1972 to perform with the Bombay Orchestra. The recordings from that session are now released for the first time. Other highlights include an early version of "When The Levee Breaks" called "If It Keeps On Raining" and an instrumental mix of "Poor Tom" from 1970. A rough mix of "The Wanton Song" and another alternate version of "In The Light" come from the Physical Graffiti sessions. The 2015 reissue of "Coda" completes the cycle of Led Zeppelin reissues.
