On this album, which was recorded in a single take on New Year's Eve, he crosses genre boundaries. Unlike his earlier works, he gives space to electronic effects, expanding his musical expression. Hancock's sextet is the most accomplished ensemble he has ever played with. With this work he opens new doors for jazz music as a whole.
