Good things come to those who wait: The Gorillaz follow-up It's hard to believe, but it's true: just one year after the release of "Humanz," Gorillaz returned to the studio in 2018. "The NowNow" is the title of the virtual quartet's new sixth album. The mastermind Damon Albarn and his bandmates recorded eleven new songs for it at London's Studio 13 in February. Production was supported by James Ford and Remi Kabaka. Unlike the previous album, only a few colleagues are involved in "The NowNow". These include American jazz and fusion guitarist and vocalist George Benson, homegrown musician and producer Jamie Principle and none other than rap legend Snoop Dogg. Back in June, Gorillaz revealed what their new album sounds like through the first two singles, the laid-back summery "Humility" and the experimental, funky-electronic "Lake Zurich." And they're visible: good things don't necessarily last. Gorillaz didn't even need a year to come up with another genius: "The NowNow".
