The long-awaited vinyl reissue of Goldfrapp's second album "Black Cherry" is out now as the first in a series of Goldfrapp vinyl releases on special edition colored vinyl. Originally released in April 2003, it was out of print for many years and will be available here in purple vinyl with an exclusive art print of the original cover art - a collage by Mat Maitland with photographs by Polly Borland. The album followed Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory's debut 'Felt Mountain' and was their first Top 20 album in the UK, for which they were nominated for a Brit Award the following year. "Black Cherry", described by The Guardian on its release as "laudable, challenging and hugely entertaining", was elaborated on by UNCUT magazine with the words: "I doubt there will be many better albums out this year", is the sound of a band that kicks it hard on the dancefloor without abandoning the experimental spirit of the previous album. From the heartbreaking beauty of the title track to the fantasy-dance floor in an alien landscape, the Ivor Novello Award-winning single "Strict Machine". The cover features Gwendoline Christie, who starred in Game of Thrones and Star Wars.
