The album stayed at number one in the UK for three weeks and spent a total of 35 weeks in the top ten. Six singles were released from the Older album, including "Fastlove" and the eternal classic "Jesus To A Child". Four more singles climbed into the Top 3. The album was also commercially very successful worldwide. It reached platinum status in 22 countries and went platinum six times in the UK alone. A success that no other artist has been able to repeat to this day. The earlier was George Michael's third solo album. Here he experimented with new musical styles and expanded his artistic horizons. Critics hailed the album, on which the singer came to terms with a particularly unpleasant phase of his life, as a triumphant success. George relives the tumultuous and painful moments on Older and translates them into songs he wrote and produced himself. Older thus became the most personal album of his life.
