Gemeinsam schaffen sie eine einzigartige Mixtur aus klassischer Kunstfertigkeit und zeitgenössischer Musik. Mike Portnoy beschreibt die besondere Magie dieses Bandprojekts wie folgt: "Dieses Album enthält die Elemente, die man von jedem von uns erwarten würde. Product information It started with a simple idea: virtuoso musicians and a pop singer teamed up to make new music the old-fashioned way. What followed was a band that evolved into the Flying Colors: Mike Portnoy (drums, vocals), Dave LaRue (bass), Neal Morse (keys, vocals), Casey McPherson (vocals) and Steve Morse (guitar). Together, they create a unique fusion of historic craft, contemporary music and riveting live performances. In 2008, Executive Producer Bill Evans began to bring this idea to life. He needed exactly the right musicians to make it happen. In addition to being exceptional players and writers, they would have to be a natural creative fit and complement each other's skills. They would have a proven chemistry with each other from previous collaborations, but the new band would be different from anything they had done before. The world didn't need another supergroup. As with the classic albums, there would be a strong production team that would be a creative extension of the band: a visionary producer, an imaginative engineer, and a compelling visual artist. Although these were experienced artists with impressive backgrounds and catalogues, this would be new territory for most of them. And with no budget or label, they came together with only a shared vision to create something special and unique. "This record is full of trials and triumphs.
