Fleetwood Mac: Then Play On versión en CD en remasterizado edición. Esta edición en concreto se lanzó en Europa en la editorial Reprise Records en colaboración con Warner Music el día 20. agosto 2013.
There was life before super success! Long before FLEETWOOD MAC hit the top of the charts with Rumours, Tusk and Tango In The Night, they had been celebrating great success on the blues and rock scene for several years. With the expanded and remastered edition of Then Play On, first released in 1969, and the lovingly and lavishly designed 4-LP box set (vinyl) FLEETWOOD MAC: 1969-1972, Reprise-Records now revives the early years of this incomparable band! The first album is Then Play On, one of the finest British blues and rock albums of the late sixties and for many fans the pinnacle of their career. When their third album Then Play On was released in October 1969, FLEETWOOD MAC already had an excellent reputation worldwide. This first album, released on Reprise, features founding member Peter Green on guitar for the last time. Consisting of Green, Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Jeremy Spencer and Danny Kirwan, this line-up has gone down in the long history of band constellations as FLEETWOOD MAC MK I (with three guitarists!). The revised CD version of the album is now available for the first time as the original track list, making the tracks One Sunny Day and Without You available on CD for the first time. The new liner notes were written by Rolling Stone veteran David Fricke. The album also features four bonus tracks, including the iconic single Oh Well, Pt. 1 & 2, which was included on the second version of the album due to its great success on the charts. Topping the charts are two more hit singles, World Of Harmony and the single The Green Manalishi (With The Two Prong Crown ). Review: ,,For the first time, this groundbreaking album has been remastered in its original UK track order, with new liner notes by rock journalist David Fricke and four bonus tracks, including Oh Well, Pt. 1 & 2," a raw version of the legendary guitar riff later made famous around the world in arrangements by Billy Gibbons, Tom Petty and Jimmy Page." (Good Times, October/November 2013) ,,... probably the strongest and most versatile expression of the dazzling trio around Mick Fleetwood and John McVie that once emerged from the talents of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers." (Stereo Play, October 2013) , "This reissue once again contains all the tracks of the British original in the correct order and length, plus shines with excellent sound, insightful liner notes by David Fricke and bonus tracks..."
