In June 1970, Elvis Presley traveled from his home in Memphis to Nashville, where he rented a room in RCA Studio B for five recording days. In 1970, Elvis Presley went to Nashville, where he was able to get a recording studio. There he was accompanied by musicians such as Charlie McCoy and Norbert Putnam, the legendary "Nashville Cats". The result became known among fans as the "Marathon Sessions". The five-day sessions began in the early evening and lasted until dawn. They produced a variety of material, including a rousing version of Willie Nelson's "Funny How Time Slips Away," a heartbreaking "I've Lost You," a cover version of Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water," and a new version of "Love Letters."
