AVID Entertainment has previously released CDs with Ella Fitzgerald and also with Louis Armstrong (and there have been many!), but our latest release on the AVID Jazz label is the first. Ella and Louis formed a formidable partnership together, some would say it was a marriage made in heaven! Producer Matt Gabler's original idea to bring these two jazz greats together was taken up by legendary producer Norman Granz (manager of Ella and pianist Oscar Peterson). What followed was a series of unputdownable classic albums, with Ella singing, Louis playing vocals and trumpet, and Oscar Peterson accompanying them on piano. Ella even insisted that Louis choose the songs! On this superbly remastered 2CD you will find the complete classic "Ella & Louis" album, selections from "Ella & Louis Again" and "Porgy & Bess" and a host of other wonderful duets.
