David Gilmour : Live at Pompeii is a live album by David Gilmour , released on September 29, 2017. The album was recorded in July 2016 at the ancient Roman amphitheatre in Pompeii, Italy, where Gilmour played two concerts as part of his Rattle That Lock Tour. The album reached number one in the United Kingdom and number two in the United States. The album was produced by David Gilmour and Phil Manzanera and mixed by Andy Jackson and Damon Iddins. It features renditions of songs from Gilmour's solo albums as well as Pink Floyd songs such as "One of These Days", "The Great Gig in the Sky" and "Comfortably Numb". The album was positively received by music critics. On Metacritic, which assigns a standardized rating out of 100 to reviews by mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 85, which means "universal acclaim". Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic awarded the album four and a half stars out of five, writing: "It's a testament to Gilmour's artistry and the power of his performance that Live at Pompeii is so riveting.
