David Garrett is one of the most versatile violinists of the young generation. His repertoire is not limited to classical music, but he also performs arrangements of rock songs and film music, as well as composing. He has been playing the violin since the age of four, and three years later began studying at the Lübeck Conservatory and later at the Royal Academy of Music in London. From the age of nineteen he continued his studies at the Juilliard School in New York with the legendary Itzhak Perlman. There he also won a composition competition in 2003 with a fugue composed in the style of J.S. Bach. At the age of thirteen, he signed a contract with the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label, becoming the youngest soloist in the company's history. David Garrett performs dozens of performances a year with renowned orchestras and conductors around the world, as well as with his own group, performing popular repertoire. He has made numerous recordings in a wide range of styles, from Mozart sonatas to film melodies. In 2013 he played the lead role in The Devil's Violinist, a biopic about Niccolo Paganini.
